BLOG INSTRUCTIONS – POST #5

30 09 2012

Prompt/Catalyst: What is something that you notice yourself, or others around you, “performing“, as a reflection of the social and cultural landscape in which we live?
Does it make you curious about a specific social, cultural, political issue enacted in our everyday lives?
In other words, what’s been bugging you lately? What’s found its way into your mind as a topic of curiosity, a cause for activism, a subject you are itching to investigate, because the society (social-political-cultural practices) around you is clearly “missing something”/”not doing something right”/has some “more learning to do”, in your estimation?
You don’t have to know a lot about this topic already — in fact it’s better if you don’t! — you just have to find it endlessly interesting, and something that you would enjoy learning and exploring from a few different angles.
Write a paragraph (4-5 sentences) about what this topic is, and what sparked your initial interest/recent passion in it.
Then with this topic in mind, read the selection of Hafiz poems for our upcoming performances (***PLEASE EXCLUDE THE LAST POEM), and pick your top TWO favorite poems. Write the titles of these 2 poems at the end of your post.

DUE BY 2PM (START OF CLASS) ONLINE, TUESDAY OCT 2.
Also, for your readings this week, please check out the choreography posts, listed on the schedule of our Weekly Readings  (links now online) – WEEK SEVEN.
